Save These Paint Colours For Later!

My love for interior design began many moons ago, back in 1996. After spending 15 years as a stay-at-home mom and navigating some major life changes, I knew in my heart it was time to pursue a career—something I was truly passionate about.

Twenty-nine years ago, I took a leap of faith and jumped into the kitchen design industry with both feet. The early years weren’t easy—I spent countless hours learning, unlearning, and immersing myself in every opportunity to expand my knowledge and resources. Today, I’m proud to say I’m an expert in the industry, helping my clients fall in love with their homes again by creating designs that are not only beautiful but, most importantly, functional.

In 2025, I’m excited to share even more value with you! My goal is to provide insights, expertise, and behind-the-scenes knowledge of interior design so you feel confident in the choices you make for your home. First up—we’re revealing our top paint colours, from timeless neutrals to bold, statement-making shades!

7 TIPS WHEN SELECTING PAINT COLOURS:

  1. Consider Natural Light – The way a colour looks can change depending on how much natural light a room gets. Always test samples on different walls and observe them at various times of the day.
  2. Start with a Neutral Base – If you want flexibility in décor, opt for timeless neutrals like soft whites, warm beiges, or greige tones. They provide a clean canvas and will make your space feel open and inviting.
  3. Use Undertones Wisely – Every colour has an undertone (warm, cool, or neutral). Make sure the undertones in your paint complement your flooring, countertops, and furniture for a cohesive look.
  4. Test Before You Commit – Instead of relying solely on a paint swatch, apply a sample to your wall and observe how it looks in different lighting conditions before making a final decision.
  5. Balance Bold with Neutral – If you love bold colours but worry about overwhelming a space, consider using them on an accent wall, in a powder room, or through décor like artwork and furniture.
  6. Think About Flow – If your home has an open-concept layout, choose colours that flow well together to create a seamless and harmonious look.
  7. Ceilings and Trim Matter – Don’t forget about the fifth wall! A crisp white ceiling or a contrasting trim can elevate the entire look of a room.
